It begins with a Sweeper on an empty stage, experimenting with the magic of theatre to create life through imagination. His creations include a Young Man, a Young Woman, and eventually a diverse cast led by a universal Aunt Harriet. Themes of love, hate, politics, and religion emerge, bringing bickering, dissension, and decadence. As chaos ensues, the Sweeper struggles to regain control, ultimately banishing his creations back to the shadows. The Manager then restores order, leaving the theatre silent as life outside continues.
