Title: The Crucible
Presented By: Gold Coast Little Theatre
Genre: Drama/Tragedy
Synopsis: Arthur Miller’s The Crucible is a classic drama set during the Salem witch trials of 1692. It explores the hysteria that grips a small community as accusations of witchcraft spiral out of control. The play draws a chilling parallel to the McCarthyism of the 1950s, illustrating the dangers of mass paranoia and the power of false accusations. Characters are driven by fear, superstition, and the malice that festers in an oppressive society, culminating in a story that remains hauntingly relevant today.
