AUDITION NOTICE: Gunsmoke Radio Play - New Farm Nash Theatre


Title: Gunsmoke – A Triple-Shot of Lux Radio Plays

Synopsis: Gunsmoke was set in Dodge City, Kansas, in the 1890s and began as a radio program that CBS aired from 1952 to 1961. Like the radio version, the television series centred on the character of Matt Dillon, a U.S. marshal charged with maintaining law and order in an American frontier town.


Audition Date: Saturday, 7th December 2024

Audition Time: 9:30 AM

Audition Location and Address: New Farm Nash Theatre Play Shed, 4 Amity Street, New Farm


Audition Requirements:

  • Audition will involve a cold read of parts of the scripts.

  • Southern American accents (cowboy) preferred but not essential.


Available Roles:

  • 7 Males, 2 Females

  • Middle-aged actors, capable of playing multiple characters and age ranges.


Performance Dates: 21st February – 15th March 2025

Performance Location: The Brunswick Room, Merthyr Road Uniting Church, 52 Merthyr Road, New Farm

Rehearsal Dates: Not specified. Rehearsals will commence prior to Christmas, with a break over the festive period.
