AUDITION NOTICE: "Company" by Phoenix Ensemble

Phoenix Ensemble in Beenleigh is hosting auditions for the musical "Company" by Stephen Sondheim.


Audition Dates: April 5th, 7th, and 8th

Callbacks: April 14th and 21st

Location: The Tin Shed, Beenleigh Showgrounds, James St, Beenleigh QLD

About the Show: "Company" revolves around Robert, a likeable bachelor, reflecting on his life and relationships on his 35th birthday. The musical explores various vignettes depicting dinners, drinks, dates, and a wedding involving Robert's friends and their complex relationships.

Roles and Diversity: The production encourages applications from diverse performers, reflecting various backgrounds, identities, and perspectives. The 2013 licensed version will be performed, maintaining the original gender presentation of characters.

Audition Requirements:

  • Prepare two contrasting song excerpts (1 minute each).

  • Digital backing tracks required.

  • Short performance text provided.

  • Colour headshot and completed audition form needed.

  • Kathy role applicants must prepare a dance sequence.


Important Dates:

  • First rehearsal: May 5th

  • Tech rehearsals: July 15th-28th

  • Performances: August 2nd-24th
