Title: Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice
Presented By:Â Queensland Theatre
Genre:Â Theatre / Romantic Comedy
Synopsis: To celebrate the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth, her beloved novel Pride & Prejudice is brought to the stage in a vibrant new adaptation. This fresh, exhilarating retelling features an all-Queensland cast and centres on the spirited and witty Elizabeth Bennet, a young woman determined to choose her own destiny. She navigates the glittering social whirl of regency England while clashing with the aloof and enigmatic Mr Darcy. As their mutual misunderstandings give way to affection, they come to realise that they may be more alike than either would care to admit. Adapted by Patrick White Award winners Wendy Mocke and Lewis Treston, this stage production is a delightful exploration of love, class, and social expectation, filled with Austen’s trademark wit.
