Synopsis: Based on Dr Ruth Hegarty’s award-winning books, Is That You, Ruthie? is a deeply moving stage adaptation written and directed by Leah Purcell. This powerful play explores the true story of a mother and daughter separated by Australia’s dormitory system from 1930 to 1957. As they attempt to reconnect, they face the painful reality that their bond has been forever altered. A poignant journey of resilience, survival, and the lasting effects of government removal policies, this production is an unmissable piece of truth-telling Australian theatre.
