THEATRE: Close, But No Cigar - Silent Sky Collective

27 Mar 2025

Season: March 27th - April 5th, 2025

Title: Close, But No Cigar

Presented By: Silent Sky Collective, BackDock Arts

Genre: Mystery / Drama

Synopsis: New York, 1947. The war is over, and life is returning to normal. But for five seemingly unrelated individuals—Arthur Blackbird, Oddette Blair, Dick Clarke, Vivienne Fareweather, and Dr. Edwin Graves—life is about to take a dark turn.

Each of them receives a peculiar package on their doorstep: a series of nested boxes, the smallest containing nothing but a single brick and a note reading, "Assume the worst, you know the reason." The address on the note leads them all to the office of a private investigator—only for the detective to conveniently step out for coffee, leaving them alone to unravel a mystery. Who had the motive, desire, and stomach to murder Mr. Williams, a powerful politician? How could they have done it? And, most pressingly—when will that damn investigator return with their coffee?
