OPERA: La Cenerentola (Cinderella) - Opera Queensland

4 Mar 2025

Season: March 4th - 8th, 2025

Title: La Cenerentola (Cinderella)

Presented By: Opera Queensland

Genre: Opera

Synopsis: A heartwarming tale of love, disguise, and destiny, La Cenerentola – A Cinderella Story is Rossini’s operatic take on the beloved fairytale. Instead of pumpkin carriages and fairy godparents, this version offers sparkling music, theatrical mischief, and a heroine whose kindness and resilience shine above all.

When an invitation to Prince Ramiro’s ball arrives, the gentle and warm-hearted Angelina (Cinderella) is overlooked by her selfish stepsisters and father, Don Magnifico. But true magic lies not in spells, but in kindness—when Cinderella captures the Prince’s heart, it’s not a slipper that proves her worth, but her unwavering spirit. Filled with dazzling vocal performances, comedic antics from Magnifico and Dandini, and a mix-up at the ball, La Cenerentola is a delightful night at the opera where fairytales really do come true.
