Synopsis:

The Boy From Oz is the iconic Australian musical biography and tribute to the legendary Peter Allen. Born in the outback town of Tenterfield in 1944, Peter Allen began his entertainment journey at age 5, impersonating Al Jolson. His rise to fame saw him become a pop star as a teenager, tour Asia, and meet Judy Garland, who introduced him to her daughter, Liza Minnelli. This meeting marked the start of an extraordinary journey that included winning an Oscar, selling out Radio City Music Hall, and becoming a beloved figure in Australia. With plenty of highs and lows—including his Broadway flop, the death of his partner, and his own battle with illness—Peter Allen’s life was one of complexity, talent, and resilience. The Boy From Oz captures his vibrant energy, leaping through time as his life unfolds in the context of one of his iconic concerts.
