Synopsis: Based on P.L. Travers’ beloved book series, Mary Poppins became an instant hit when it premiered as a film in 1964. Forty years later, Cameron Macintosh created an enchanting stage musical that blends elements of Disney’s film with material inspired by Travers’ books. Set in 1910 London, the story follows Bert, a jack-of-all-trades, who introduces us to the dysfunctional Banks family. Jane and Michael, the children of the family, have dismissed yet another nanny. With a distracted mother and a constantly working father, they long for guidance. Enter the magical Mary Poppins, who brings whimsy, magic, and common sense into their lives. Together, they embark on magical adventures, teaching lessons about the importance of discipline, family, and fun. Mary Poppins’ influence extends beyond the children, ultimately teaching the grown-ups the power of opening up and embracing possibility, proving that “anything can happen if you let it.”
